An estimate of more than 400 Million people worldwide suffer from Viral Hepatitis C, with an annual death toll of 1.4 million people makes hepatitis the most prevalent and most lethal chronic infectious disease worldwide. In fact, hepatitis kills more people than HIV, Malaria or Tuberculosis. In Mongolia the situation is worse than in any other country. Approximately 15% of all mortalities in Mongolia are caused by hepatitis. The social and economic burden of hepatitis on the country is immense.
